Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how QuestBoard ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and progressive web app (the "Platform"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences (such as staying logged in) over time. Similar technologies — like local storage and a service worker — store small amounts of data on your device for comparable purposes.
2. How We Use Cookies
QuestBoard is built to be privacy-light. We use only strictly necessary technologies to make the Platform work. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or marketing analytics cookies.
| Name / type | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie (authentication) | Keeps you securely logged in across pages. Set by our authentication system; without it you cannot sign in. | Strictly necessary | Until session expiry or sign-out |
Local storage (e.g. qb-push-prompt-dismissed) | Remembers small UI preferences, such as that you dismissed the push-notification prompt. | Functional | Until you clear browser storage |
| Service worker & cache (PWA) | Caches app assets so QuestBoard loads fast and works as an installable app. Stores push-notification subscription details if you opt in. | Strictly necessary / functional | Managed by your browser; cleared on uninstall or cache clear |
3. Third-Party Cookies
We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. When you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies as part of its authentication flow; these are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not control them.
4. Managing Cookies
Because the cookies we use are strictly necessary, the Platform cannot function without them — in particular, disabling the session cookie will prevent you from logging in. You can still control cookies and local data through your browser settings:
- View, block, or delete cookies and site data for QuestBoard.
- Clear the service-worker cache by uninstalling the app or clearing site data.
- Disable push notifications at any time through your browser or device settings.
Refer to your browser's help pages for instructions specific to your device.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
